Design Computer Aided Drafting
Welcome to the world of computer-aided drafting and design (CADD). Employers
in the interior design field as well as in the automotive, manufacturing, tool
and die and other related industries are looking for skilled professionals to
be a part of their design teams, people who can take concepts and turn them into
finished products using the latest in computer technology to make things happen.
Many schools offer Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) Programs.
Students get practical, hands-on training on some the latest software programs
used in the industry today. CADD students are working across the United States
in small design firms to Fortune 500 companies as Boeing Airlines, General Motors
and Navistar. The employment outlook for CADD is growing much faster
than the national average with approximately 670 openings a year. Overall, the
salary range is from approximately $18,000 to $72,000 a year depending on educational
attainment, the employer and/or experience. Starting pay can range from $17,000
to nearly $35,000 annually. Copyright
